Name meaning : Named by WC Bundock, first settler in the area, because of the bare topped peak at the end of the range facing the railway line on the west side. The peak was locally known as "The Helmet"
Notes : The 16' Up (sleeper with steel frame) platform had a small shelter. Serviced property "Mill Park". A slide took cream cans to the platform for collection. Possibly the shortest lived station on the line at 16 years.

Looking towards the location of the one-time platform at Hermit's Peak. It was only open for a brief period of time (1941-1957) and was a simple structure made from sleepers on the Down side of the line.  The property (GLENGOWRIE) that lay on both sides of the line at this place used to ship cream from the platform. The area may have had a (slightly) larger population at the time as newspaper reports note that there was a tennis court nearby that hosted teams from around the Kyogle district.


Chris Abbott states that the property is "Mill Park". The cow bails were on the far top right where that shed is . A slide took the cream cans down to the platform for pick up by the Goat .
