Binna Burra's naming history spans three names — Garvan's Siding (1894), Binna Burra (1896), and the unofficial compound history of the Creamery/Binna Burra Co-operative Dairy/Norco siding (1913–1950). The station's two platform locations (original Down side 73.4 metres; replaced October 1913 by 34.4-metre Up side) make it one of the few Murwillumbah branch stations with a fully documented platform relocation. The Norco siding history (14 March 1913 creamery opening → 1926 Norco renaming → 22 September 1949 abolition → W.N. 7–1950 final deletion) is the most completely documented private dairy siding in the Murwillumbah branch collection, with a 36-year operational life.
