Wiangaree was the controlling station for The Cape (from 1936; control transferred to Kyogle in 1960) and Treberth (from 1942; Treberth also under Kyogle from 1963). The Brisbane Road (Woodenbong Road) level crossing at 525m 65c (525.65 miles) was gated and under the control of Wiangaree, with a telephone at the gatehouse. >
> The Type F signals and warning bell are automatically controlled by track circuit. Warning of the approach of a train will be given by the alternate flashing of the red lights in the Type F signals, and at the same time an audible indication will be given by the ringing of the bell.

*(W.N. 37–1963)*

## 1969 — Wiangaree Closed as Booking Station (Second Time) — 21 November 1969

### Closed as Booking Station — W.N. 48–1969
> **Stations and Platforms, etc. — Maitland to Queensland Border** — Wiangaree was closed as a Booking Station on **21st November, 1969** — insert (P). (C. 1–69–5,401.) *(W.N. 48–1969.)*

> **Note:** Wiangaree was closed as a booking station in 1960 (W.N. 47–1960) and was presumably re-staffed at some point before being closed again in November 1969. The 1959 staff vacancy notices confirm staffing in 1959, just before the 1960 closure. The 1969 re-closure with (P) designation suggests it was reopened as a staffed station between 1960 and 1969 and then permanently closed as a booking station.

---

## 1970 — Seal Press No. 612 Deleted; 5-Ton Crane Inoperative

### Seal Press No. 612 Deleted — W.N. 14–1970

> **Note:** Seal Press No. 612 had been allotted to Wiangaree in W.N. 26–1932 (as No. 751) but the 1970 notice deletes No. 612 — suggesting the press had been re-numbered at some point.

---

## 1971 — Stock Races Deleted; 5-Ton Crane Inoperative

### Stock Races — Deleted — W.N. 13–1971
> **Stations, Platforms, and Sidings — Accommodation Provided — 526m 14c — Wiangaree** — In the columns headed "Stock races showing number of trucks that can be dealt with without an engine" delete "9" and "8." (A. 1–71–37,604.) *(W.N. 13–1971.)*

---

## 1975 — Closed; Deleted from All Remaining Publications — W.N. 26–1975

### Deleted from All Publications
> **Trains on Which Sleeping Accommodation Is Available — North Coast Line — Brisbane Express** — Delete **Wiangaree**. *(W.N. 26–1975.)*
>
> **Table 45** — Delete all reference to Repton, Ampdale, Coombell, **Wiangaree** and Loadstone. *(W.N. 26–1975.)*
>
> **Working Timetable — Northern** — Delete all reference to Lawrence Road, Ampdale, Coombell, **Wiangaree** and Loadstone. (Pages 203–215.) *(W.N. 26–1975.)*

---

## 1980–1981 — Sleeper Siding Removed; Deleted from Local Appendix

### Sleeper Siding Reference Deleted — W.N. 3–1981
> **Page 387 — Stations and Sidings — continued — Wiangaree** — Delete: All reference to **Sleeper Siding** commencing with "Frame A" and Duplex Lock "A." *(W.N. 3–1981.)*

> **Note:** The deletion of the sleeper siding entry in W.N. 3–1981 confirms the siding had been physically removed in 1980 (per external records), with the formal administrative deletion following in 1981. The reference to "Frame A" and "Duplex Lock A" being deleted confirms these were the final railway infrastructure entries for Wiangaree.

---

## 1982 — Final Reference — Business Listing

### Tailing Creek Milling Co. — Wiangaree 2474
> **Tailing Creek Milling Co., c/- J. Alcorn, Wiangaree 2474** — to P.O. Box 294 [address]. (F.B.S. — 82.) *(W.N. — 1982.)*

> **Note:** This 1982 entry — a business directory listing for Tailing Creek Milling Co. at Wiangaree — is the last reference to Wiangaree in the Weekly Notices collection. The continued presence of a milling company at Wiangaree in 1982 confirms the local timber industry remained active even after the railway station had closed.
