Type : Station
Line : North Coast Line
Distance from Sydney : 472.500km
Location : -31.321929, 152.802008
Opened : 27 November 1917
Closed : 23 February 1983
Status : Open (station closed), loop in use
Name meaning : No primary reference
Notes : The original Up platform was 111.25 metres in legth and held a standard A4 station building, there was a standard G3 goods shed and a J2 station masters cottage. A water tank with a 203mm bore jib was sited to the north of the platform and is still in situ, water was pumped from the Wilson River via an oil engine. An ash pit was 35.9 metres to the north of the platform. Opened with a central interlocked loop. 3/12/1917 wharf siding laid in.  25/6/1926 5 tonne yard crane installed. 1947 electric lights installed at the station. 1963 ashpit out of use and filled in. 30/3/1984 station building removed for re-use nearby but never re-erected, the remains could be seen decaying away for some years. The platform was reduced to 91.1 metres prior to 1961. Curiously, the platform appears to have been rebuilt in concrete after closure and then later demolished, construction of the short platform with a waiting room started in March 1984 and cost $70k. Telegraph Point has a 1600 metre crossing loop. Circular No. 181 of 1917 — 65 years as the base diagram (1917–1982). This is the longest-lived base circular documented anywhere in the North Coast collection, surpassing Circular No. 581–13 of 1933 at John's River (48 years) and Circular No. 309.33 of 1935 at Melinga (47 years). 1917 — Opened 27 November 1917; Signal-box A; Loop 459 Yards; Frame B; Wharf Siding

Demolition of Telegraph Point station prior to (supposedly) being relocated, 28/2/1984 - the building was supposed to have been rebuilt and restored adjacent to the Old Butter Factory restaurant. Pretty sure it never happened though.
