The "no nearby settlement" note is consistent with this — the platform likely served scattered rural properties along the Raleigh–Maharatta corridor. The 8-minute goods shunting allowance (1924/1925) for an unattended platform with only small consignments suggests the goods traffic, while limited, was consistent enough to warrant a formal shunting allowance. The platform was the only facility until 1925 — nine years of operation with just a waiting shed.*
