This photograph shows the slightly untidy connection between the signal box and the station building. The head in the doorway belongs to Dr Stuart Sharp.

An internal view of a signal box opened in 1913. Probably little had changed except for the detectors on the floorplates. The diagram and lever name plates were typical of those before changes were made by Byles. The interlocking machine was a Type A Contract design manufactured by Thornley & Sons although there was no maker's identification. RT Taaffe

A rather cramped internals of the signal box. The rear sash can be observed as applied to some examples of the Type P design of signal box. In this instance the staff instruments are at opposite ends of the signal box. RT Taaffe

A Type F signal box as constructed when the line was opened. On the North Coast, it was unusual for the gap between the station and the signal box not to have been filled. RT Taaffe

There was an age difference between the Type K signal box and the station building. The latter obviously dated from nearer the opening of the line. RT Taaffe

Signal box was opened when a new Electric Staff and crossing station was brought into use.
The mechanical interlocking machine was replaced by an OCS panel in the signal box on 26 April
1982 when the points and signals were converted to power operation. The signal box was closed
when control was transferred to Broadmeadow and the panel was redesignated an emergency panel
and then relocated to the Traffic Room. A standard Type K signal box provided as part of provision of extra crossing loops in conjunction with the opening of the
standard gauge line to Brisbane (in 1930). RT Taaffe

The Type F signal box was in a collection of neat looking buildings on the platform. It can be seen that the angle of the skillion roof was different between the Signal Branch and Way and Works building on the far left. RT Taaffe
