Signal box opened with the new centrally operated crossing loop, dividing the Electric Staff section
Glenreagh – Lanitza. Design was the same as a number of other locations including Bonville,
Landrigans and Kinloss.
Points and signals were converted to power operation on 13 December 1982 at which time the
interlocking machine was replaced by a DML OCS panel. When the signal box was closed control
was transferred to Broadmeadow CTC and the panel relocated to the Traffic Room for emergency use. (Taaffe)

Coramba could be a hot and humid location and the provision of opening windows was important. There were occasions when the front window was opened on Type K signal boxes; one was here. RT Taaffe

Although the station building was constructed from concrete units (drop slabs) made by the Signal Engineer's Branch, the signal box was a typical timber Type F design. It is interesting to note that the replacement toilet building was larger than the signal box. RT Taaffe

A standard Type F signal box separated some distance along the platform from the station building. It is not known what the purpose of the vent was above the door. RT Taaffe
