Name meaning : Its name was meant to be "Glen Nora" after the daughter of a pioneer of the district, but it was corrupted to the present name.
Notes : 2nd Glenora station (see Coniston) built after the line extension bypassed the original location. Some sources also name this site as "Forest" (possibly after the property of Fenton Forest at the location).

At this stage the new line extension has by-passed the old Glenora Station and can be seen coming up to a cutting heading towards the new Glenora station located below Shoobridge's home, Forest Lodge at Fenton Forest. The original line crossed the road up the hill just past Conniston.
