Title: Wylie's
Post by: admin on September 13, 2024, 08:13:08 AM
Type : Halt
Line : Apsley Branch
Distance from Brighton Junction : 37.417km
Opened : 1921 (as Melton Vale), renamed Wylie's in 1928
Closed : Unknown
Status : Closed
Name meaning : After the property owner
Notes : Located at 23 and a quarter miles (37.417km), this was a stopping place that first appeared in 1921 as Melton Vale, being renamed in 1928 to Wylie's.
It was very likely a halt that served a local property owned by one D. Wylie who also owned other land in the area, and it is believed to have had a small sleeper and rammed earth platform on the Up side of the line.
