OC has been inaccessible by rail since the Feb 2022 steel train derailment. Before then it was last used in 2019 for LVR to store their CPH railmotor set while it was in the area for Beef Week tours.

This view looking toward up-end on the mainline shows the yard layout slightly better. 807km post is just behind the photographer. Former OC dead-end siding on the right. It looks like the points for this were straight-railed just before closure in 2004. The frog was still sitting in the grass next to it when this photo was taken. Former Blue Circle Cement loop and shed in middle distance on the left, and OC loop visible too.

While most photos of the first Casino station (now Old Casino) are taken from the track side, this photo from the Kerry collection held by the Chau Chak Wing Museum art the University of Sydney is from the "other" side and shows a fine collection of horse drawn vehicles.  The photo is between October 1903 (when the station opened) and 1915, as that is the latest date of photos in the collection.

# Old Casino Junction (North Fork)/Old Casino/Casino Triangle (Casino–Murwillumbah Branch)
## Entries from NSW Government Railways Weekly Notices, 1889–1989
> **Note on naming:** The station opened in 1910 as **"Casino"**. The existing Casino station on the main North Coast Line was renamed to accommodate the new station, but it was not until **1930** — when the new Casino station opened at its present town centre location — that this junction became known as **"Old Casino."** All references before 1930 to "Casino" on the Murwillumbah Branch relate to this location. The junction is consistently referred to in operational notices as the **"North Fork"** to distinguish it from the South Fork (Kyogle Line).
---
## Pre-1930 (Referred to as "Casino")
### 1910
> Line opened to Old Casino (then Casino) on **25th June 1910**.
*(No specific Weekly Notice entries found for 1910 relating to the junction itself — opening details per external records.)*
## 1930 — Renaming and New Arrangements
### Opening of New Casino Station — Renaming to "Old Casino"
> The new Casino station opened for Coaching Traffic (Mile Post Mileage 500.20 from Sydney). The Station Distinguishing Number for Casino will remain unaltered, and the Station Distinguishing Number for **Old Casino** was changed.
> The complete arrangements will be in accordance with Circular No. 384-18 of 1930, and diagrams attached thereto.
**Mileages for Rates Purposes** — consequent upon the abovementioned alterations, new mileages for Coaching and Goods Rates purposes apply.
*(W.N. 39–1930)*
### Working on North Fork — Old Casino–North Fork Junction
> Whenever it is necessary for trains to proceed from the Kyogle line to Old Casino, or vice versa, via the North Fork, the procedure will be as follows: The Station-master, Casino, must arrange for an employee to be at North Fork Junction, in order that the Miniature Electric Train Staff for the section Casino–Fairy Hill can be handed to the Driver of Down trains, or received from the Driver of Up trains. When an Up train has passed on to the North Fork clear of the Main line, and the points have been restored to normal, the employee must obtain the Electric Train Staff and return it to the Signalman at Casino.
>
> The Station-master, Casino, will also be responsible for ensuring that the Ordinary Train Staff for the section **Old Casino–North Fork Junction** is at the end of the section from which the next train requires to proceed.
*(W.N. 38–1930)*
