Post by: admin on June 20, 2024, 07:52:56 AM
Type : Station
Line : Main Line
Distance from Hobart : 010.600km
Opened : 1880 (as Rosetta Crossing) closed 1881, re-opened as Rosetta 1891
Closed : 1974
Status : Closed
Name meaning : After the location
Notes : Facilities for passengers only, first mention in the WTT in 1880. In 1925 it was noted that no platform existed at the location, simply a waiting shed lit by an inadequate single oil lamp; by 1923 the Railways determined that due to small amount of traffic and cost (60 pounds) it wasn't worth providing an electric light although consideration to a 2nd oil lamp would be given. 100 foot platforms.
