Name meaning : Named after Montrose Estate, established in 1806 by Robert Littlejohn
Notes : Passenger facilities only although a goods siding was planned in the early 1900s but appears not have been constructed. Plans for the site were drawn up in the mid-late 1880s. Two platforms on either side of the double line.
