Name meaning : Unknown
Notes : Yard consisted of a passing loop, goods loop and goods shed with a  stock race on a dead end siding, loco shed with ash pit and turntable. Station was originally attended and had a three room building. Goods shed removed (circa 1930s) and stock siding rebuilt with a low concrete loading platform. Post Office included with station. Chudleigh station (13.7 km; alt. 261 m) was a mirror image of the
layout at Needles, although the station building had three rooms and a caretaker.
The goods shed was later removed but the stockyard was rebuilt with a concrete platform in the 1950s.
