Mike Moy:
My Late Uncle, Eric Reynolds, was a 7th Class Signalman at Loadstone back in the late 50's. I used to go and stay in the quarters opposite the box during School Holidays. The place was manned on day work Monday to Friday IIRC. He often took the quad from Loadstone and followed No.2 on Friday night and the went up very early on Monday morning ahead of No. 1. It was a very interesting and rough ride in the dark.
