Name meaning : Aboriginal word meaning "bunyip in the water"
Notes : Down side timber platform was 78.9 metres in length. The town it serviced was 4k to the east. 1908 - loop siding laid in, it was extended by 390' in 1915. 1935 - cattle yards removed. 20/5/1974 abolished siding (the remains for Gunthorpe's Brickworks still stand) - 385' dead end siding. 26/11/1975 - station building demolished. 27/7/1979 - platform demolished. A siding existed at the station, this was abolished 20/05/1974 (the WNs contradict themselves, another states 14/07/1974). In the 1960s there was a ganger's residence at the location, this was offered for sale in 1970. A safe working hut remains at the location. Bricks from this location were used on the rebuilding of stations on the Murwillumbah branch.

Location of Coombell station, it existed between 1905 and 1974, the brickworks remains can be seen at the top of the yards.
