Title: The Spout
Post by: admin on February 16, 2022, 09:01:56 AM

Type : Construction location
Line : North Coast Line
Distance from Sydney : 329.500km
Opened : Unknown (during construction)
Closed : n/a
Status : Line in use
Name meaning : unknown

Received this from Kevin Spicer via the website feedback form this morning, with the note that The Spout was at the 329.5km mark (this dates back to an earlier thread about where it was exactly). Kevin also notes that The Spout was also a construction site. Of interest is the note about Wirradgurie that states the platform was renewed in 1972. Lots of info on this drawing!

Lorraine Jones:
Lance, Wirradgurie "renewed" or "removed" ? Will check next time I am in the area but I am 90+% certain the platform no longer exists.
Have since downloaded the image and had a close look at an enlargement and the Wirradgurie note refers to the platform being "re-erected" at mileage 203-72.
Have overlayed map detail on Google Earth image to show location of "The Spout" according to drawing this drawing appears to indicate cuttings and embankments for construction of the railway line.
