Name meaning : Named after Lieutenant Governor William Sorell by Governor Lachlan Macquarie
Notes : Watering facilities (courtesy of a nearby railway dam), crossing loop (dead end), loco servicing facilities, carriage shed, goods shed and stock pens. No turntable was provided so trains ran in reverse on the return trip to Bellerive. Station building remains (private use) as does the carriage shed (Men's Shed). Both survived the 1967 bushfires.

Name meaning : An early farm in the area was named "Pennar", and this is the most likely source of the name.
Notes : Renamed after the Post Office opened in 1914 under the name Penna. A dead end siding was constructed in 1896 and a goods shed was also built at the same time. Fettler's cottage was built at this location. Goods shed (burnt down along with the station in 1926).

Notes : Crossing loop, goods shed (relocated to existing service station), stock yards, station building still exists. The goods shed was served by a dead end loop line and another loop line existed. Station facilities included a ticket office, a waiting room and fireplace. The post office, ladies toilets and male toilets were situated within the station building.
